Milano!!
Ahhh. First weekend trip in the books! Milan is about 2 hours away from Torino aka home :)
It was a very exciting and eventful weekend. We didn’t really plan anything because it was very last minute, but sometimes those turn out to be the most memorable ones!
First thing Saturday morning i went to a sandwich place and got a giant club sandwich that was amazing. It had eggs, bacon, ham, lettuce, mayonnaise, turkey, and tomatoes. Honesty one of the best things I’ve eaten in Italy lol.
After our brunch we went to the Duomo di Milano. It was one of prettiest buildings I have ever seen. When i first saw it I literally lost my breath (I officially know what it’s like when people say something is breathtaking). I have used that word before but I have never felt it like I did Saturday.
We didn’t go in the Duomo tho, instead we walked around the surrounding areas and then went to this area called Navigli. It had a beautiful river between two streets and the streets were filled with shops and restaurants. The sun was setting at the time so we got and amazing view of the sunset. Absolutely gorgeous.
Sunday we got up and went to the Duomo first thing and went to the top and then we also went inside. It is even more beautiful on the inside. There was a mass going on while we were inside which was so cool to see!
We also went shopping!! Honestly can you even say you went to Milan if you didn’t go shopping!! I bought some really cute stuff including 2 hair scarf things! I’m so excited!!
Oh and also finally had my first gelato since being in Italy!!! Soooo freaking good!
Side note: everything in Italy is so pretty. The food (they take time to prepare/decorate everything), buildings, streets, rivers, parks, you name it. I am just so amazed at everything i have seen so far.
I am so excited for all the adventures that are yet to come!
Signing off.
