This last weekend I had a bit of a staycation in Torino after my day trip in Genoa. Before the trip to Genoa I went on a 6 mile walk through Parko del Valentino and ended up realizing that I was close to the Santa Maria al Monte dei Cappuccini. The Santa Maria al Monte dei Cappuccini is a beautiful church that has an amazing view of the entire city of Torino. I was also able to see the Alps from the view as well.

On Saturday me and my roommate decided to explore our beautiful city even more! We wanted to go to the huge open market that is located around Porta Nuova. When we walked to our metro station, which is Lingotto we realized that the metro was closed, but luckily just at our station. We decided to walk to the next station and on the way there was a smaller open market. Since being here, I haven't made it to the open markets yet, which is very popular here!

They are similar to a farmer's market, but bigger than any I have seen before. We continued to walk to the metro to go to the big open market. It is actually the largest open market in Italy. There are a ton of clothing, bread, fruit, cheese, meat, almost everything you can think of.

After going to the market we went to the oldest cafe in Torino. It is called Café Al Bicerin. It is known for its coffee that is made of coffee. It was delicious, especially for chocolate lovers. The cafe is very small and there is always a wait to get in.

Torino is such a beautiful city and there is still so much for me to explore. I can't wait to continue to explore and get to know my city a little more!!!

Signing off.
