Genoa

This weekend I decided to go on a day trip!

Genoa is about a 2 hour bus ride from Torino. Not too bad of a ride on the bus. The bus left from Torino around 6:35 and let me tell you, it was an adventure. The bus that we were supposed to get on to get to the bus station literally drove right passed us. SO we had to run to the bus station so that we didn't miss our bus to Genoa.

Since it was so early I ended up sleeping almost the entire drive, but luckily I woke up just in time to see the sunrise! What a sight it was, seeing the sunrise right over the mountains was beautiful.

When we arrived in Genoa it was around 9:30, so we began our sight seeing journey! We walked around and saw all the monumental spots in the city. We saw Cathedral of San Lorenzo, Piazza de Ferrari, and the Aquarium of Genoa. I ate at a restaurant called Da Rina. I had muscles and pasta with pesto!! Talk about yummy!! Definitely one of the best meals I have had in Italy.

After the aquarium we went to the ferris wheel and we were able to see a lot of the city. It was cool to be able to see all the houses on the hillside, it almost looked as if it was from a movie. It was almost sunset by the time we got finished with the ferris wheel. We decided to sit along the bay area and watch the sun disappear into the water. It was so beautiful, the sky was clear of clouds so it was all different shades of orange, yellow, red, and pink.

Absolutely beautiful!
